Curse of the Crimson Throne
Welcome to our team’s site for our best attempt at a 4E conversion of Curse of the Crimson Throne by Pathfinder. We’ll be following the materials purchased from Paizo as closely as possible, and using the Wizards of the Coast Monster Builder (part of the DDI) to create stat blocks for NPC’s and for encounter generation.

The city-state of Korvosa, largest in all Varisia, has prospered over the last century since its abandonment by its founding nation of Cheliax. Its port brims with black-and-red-flagged ships – the colors of both Korvosa and Cheliax – endlessly trading fineries from the south for Varisian curiosities and her land’s natural bounty. As such, Korvosa rightfully claims to be the most cultured and civilized city in the region, yet visitors might also grant the city-state the titles of most decadent, exploitative, and socially stratified.
Korvosa has long stood as the first bastion of civilization on the wild frontier of Varisia. Yet tragedy seems to haunt the city’s royal bloodline. Few of her rulers rule for long, and none have lived to a ripe old age, dying instead well before their time. Heirs to the throne are few and far between—in its 300-year history, no king of Korvosa has directly inherited the Crimson Throne from his father. This is the source of much gossip and tale-spinning among the city’s citizens, who speak in hushed tones of what they have come to call the Curse of the Crimson Throne.
Chaos and mayhem are soon to strike Korvosa, and the city’s only hope is that great heroes will step forward to save it from all threats, without and within.
